Definitions of website terms

HTML: (HyperText Markup Language) the mark-up language used for creating documents on the World Wide Web.

HTTP: (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) the client/server protocol that defines how messages are formatted and transmitted on the World Wide Web.

FTP: (File Transfer Protocol) a standard procedure that allows one computer to transfer files to and from another over a network such as the Internet.

Hyper text: Hypertext most often refers to text on a computer that will lead the user to other, related information on demand
