Install Optimise Operating Systems

Functionality: the abilities or functions available on the software or hardware

Benefit: What would be the positive side of upgrading, i.e. from UNIX terminal to a VPN

Security: techniques for ensuring that data stored in a computer cannot be read or compromised by any individuals without authorization. Most security measures involve data encryption and passwords. Since 10 computers are running on a network, security is priority.

Growth: Upgrade will expand and improve work

Delivery time: Upgrading will reduce waiting period to 2 – 3 hours as data will quicker to providers

Software and hardware: Whilst upgrading software, hardware may need to be upgraded to meet with the system requirements

Support: Giving advice or help to the user often in instructional manual or telephone support. The often be useful in cases of emergency or something has happened.

Configure: To set up a program or computer system for a particular application

Optimise support: Provide assistance that a vendor offers to customers. Support can vary widely

Install: To connect or set in position and prepare for use. In computer terminology, install usually refers to putting software on a computer (install the software), or adding hardware components to your computer (install the hardware).

Uninstall: To remove an application from a computer. Uninstalling removes all files that were added to the computer when the application was initially installed

Upgrade: A new version of a software or hardware product designed to replace an older version of the same product

Compatibility: The ability of one device or program to work with another device or program.

The user chooses whether to have full or choose to software to their particular use. They’re able to choose where to install the software (i.e. C drive)
